Frequently Asked Questions

  • An apostille is a certificate that authenticates the origin of a public document for international use under the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961. It verifies that your U.S. document is legitimate and can be legally recognized in participating countries.

  • We process apostilles for a variety of personal, educational, legal, and business documents, including:

    • Birth, marriage, divorce, or death certificates

    • Diplomas and transcripts

    • Articles of incorporation, trademarks, corporate records

    • Powers of attorney, affidavits, court documents

  • Yes! We partner with a certified translation company to offer professional document translation services when needed for apostille processing. This is especially helpful for international use, when the receiving country requires the document—or the apostille itself—to be in a specific language.

Translation fees are separate and will be quoted based on the document type, language, and turnaround time.

  • Yes! Bossred Notary Solutions can process documents issued in any U.S. state, no matter where you are located. We serve clients nationwide and internationally.

  • Absolutely. We work with international clients and offer secure instructions for mailing, uploading, or dropping off documents. Just ensure that your destination country accepts apostilles or legalized documents.

  • Some documents require notarization before they can be apostilled. We’ll let you know if your document needs it—and we can provide the notarization as part of the service if needed.

    • Florida-issued documents: For Rush orders, typically processed in 2–5 business day.

Documents from other states: may take additional time, depending on the issuing state
Rush services are available—just ask during your booking.

  • If your destination country is not part of the Hague Convention, we can assist with embassy or consulate legalization. This service ensures your document is accepted even in countries that do not recognize apostilles.

  • For non-Hague countries, the document must go through a multi-step verification process, which may include:

    1. Notarization (if needed)

    2. Secretary of State authentication

    3. U.S. Department of State certification (if applicable)

    4. Legalization by the destination country’s embassy or consulate

This process is more complex than an apostille and includes additional fees, which vary based on the embassy or consulate’s own charges, plus processing and courier fees.

  • Yes! FBI background checks are considered federal documents and can be apostilled through the U.S. Department of State if your destination country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention. If your document is going to a non-Hague country, we’ll handle the legalization process through the appropriate embassy or consulate. Most FBI background checks are emailed to you in PDF format and can be uploaded directly to our form or emailed to us after booking.
